So many of us struggle with losing weight. Not because we don’t want to do the work, but mostly because we just don’t have the time to do it. Some people can burn fat even though they’re not moving their bodies a lot while some barely tip the scale even after doing intense workouts.
This has something to do with metabolism. The levels of which vary for each body type. But here’s the welcomed news, there’s a way to boost your metabolism without having to do way too much and spend too much time on. If you have an upcoming event that you need to prepare for or let’s say a party you need to attend and would prefer to fit in the clothes you already have rather than go out on a limb to buy new ones, here are actionable items you can start on today:
1. Drink More Water
The most important element there is known to all weight watchers is water. Proper hydration plays a significant role in alleviating metabolism. Most of us underestimate what water actually contributes to our body. Water regulates temperature, lubricates organs and joints, dissolves nutrients making it easy for the body to absorb, carries oxygen and aids digestion. With all these multitude of functions that water performs, very often we think that we’re hungry but in fact what we’re actually feeling is thirst. You need to drink clean filtered water equivalent to 30 milliliters per kilo per body. So if you’re 100 kilos, you need to drink at least 3 liters minimum. Sometimes even more, particularly if you’re in a warm environment. If you exercise a lot, you need to drink even more.
2. Walk
You actually have to move your body. If you want to burn the calories, you have to put fuel on to the furnace and fire it up. Remember that the number of calories you can burn by walking is dependent on your body weight and pace. Let’s say you walk at a pace of 4 miles per hour which is considered as the normal pace, you can burn roughly around 300-400 calories per hour. So next time you catch yourself jumping in the car for a little visit or for a quick errand, go for a walk instead. Get up in the middle of your work, put the alarm on and walk for a few minutes and sit back down again. Walking is very powerful. It has been proven to burn close to as many calories as a lot of the common exercises such as jogging and doing Yoga as well.
3. Power Breathing
It’s very powerful in detoxification. Breathing is one of the actual pillars that we can take advantage of to get rid of toxins in our body. Not only that, taking in oxygen increases your body’s efficiency in releasing hydrogen. This particular element is responsible for storing fat. So the more you release, the lighter you’d feel. When you breathe, you actually energize the body. You turn on your metabolism because you get lots of blood flow back. For a quick energy boost that you can do in the morning or at any time during the day when you start to feel lethargic, stand up straight and exhale all the air out from your lungs. Breathe in through your nose until your lungs feel full. Hold it in for 2-3 seconds and exhale through your mouth while forming the letter O. Now do this in successive motion without stopping for 1 minute. See how it’s done on this video.
